Ember Incense Censer

Also known as dhuni or dhoop dani, incense censers  cups play a vital role in the spiritual practices of Indian culture, where the fragrant smoke is believed to purify spaces, evoke peace, and invite positive energy. They are lit to release aromatic smoke that enhances meditation or prayer and are commonly used during rituals, ceremonies, or for creating a calming atmosphere at home.

Light the Sambrani Cup: Hold the Sambrani cup at the base and light the edge of the cup’s brim using a matchstick or lighter. Allow it to catch a flame for a few seconds until the top begins to smolder and glow. Then, gently blow out the flame to allow the cup to release aromatic smoke.
Place in the Censer: Carefully place the lit Sambrani cup in the center of your censer. To protect the censer from direct heat and ash, it’s recommended to place a small piece of aluminum foil or a heatproof container underneath the cup. This will prevent any residue from spoiling the antique finish of your censer.
